can't be bothered

The alarm sounded at 6am on a bank holiday Monday. A normal working day for me! The rain pouring not once did it stop. My running buddy decided to give it miss today. Which meant an hour’s extra sleep? or do I get up and go? A bit of motivation. Rocky got me fired up and ready to go J

I jumped outta bed and headed out the door into the pouring rain, through the alley up towards the park to find it was closed. All fired up and ready to go I decided to run around Wollaton Park, a bit boring compared to yesterday. Linkin’ Park playing through my headphones kept me going. Not a soul on the streets. No cars until i got yo the main roads. I could feel the burning in my legs as I tried to run up a steep hill (slight gradient), and then once at the top and thinking to myself that weren't too bad. Socked through on the home stretch covered in dirt, Met a friend who wanted company on their run. Had time so ran back the way i had just come in.

Fear

Life is full of up’s and down’s, It’s whether you choice to get up and carry on, or stay on the floor. That defines you! Over the last few years I’ve realised that I’ve been on a journey of self discovery without even realising it. I’m still learning and discovering the power I have within me, the drive that keeps me moving – the fear of falling is no longer an option. It’s something that makes us stronger.

Yesterday was the day I ran into the woods, dodging the trees, occasionally getting startled by the wildlife, and misjudging a hanging branch or the depth of where I should have put my foot. Such a rush! So much fun, There was nothing really to fear but the fear I had inside was no longer there. Covered in mud, and big smile I headed home to discover I had ran 10miles of pure fun.
